We commenced business in 2009 having been set up by solicitor advocate John Carruthers who left the Scottish bar for this purpose. John had detected a latent demand for modern and responsive legal services of a high quality but at competitive cost. In a short time the increasing demand for our service has resulting in Colette Kerr and Roisin Docherty joining the firm in 2010 and early 2012.
Although we are a relatively new firm we have a depth of experience often found only at very large commercial firms. As we are solicitors and solicitor advocates we can and do represent our clients in the supreme courts. This expertise means clients have direct access to counsel which reduces cost and increases the effectiveness of representation. This type of seamless service is only normally available from the large commercial firms.
We are happy to say that we do not share the working practices of the established law firms. We do not have the legacy infrastructure of the traditional law firm which has failed to adopt modern working practices or operates from expensive offices. Consequently, we can provide you with high quality and efficient legal services at a relatively low cost compared to our competitors.
Our services are tailored to meet the requirements of SME’s and individuals. We prefer to have a close relationship with our clients in order that we can best understand their requirements. We make ourselves available to our clients when it suits them. We do not provide a 9-5 service and we do not close for lunch. We often deal with clients and their business premises or in their home and in the evenings or the weekend. We provide clients with our personal mobile numbers which allows them to contact us when they need us.
